Fishing is HOT for August!

Even though it has been extremely hot and dry, the fishing has been great throughout Lake Metroparks.  The water levels are down but our stocked ponds are still producing some fine catches. Several Lake Metroparks camp and program participants had a great time catching a lot of fish throughout August. Cooler evenings are a great time to enjoy a few hours of fishing at your favorite fishing hole.   Don't let summer end without another great day of fishing with your friends!

Two new docks offer better fishing access!

Lake Metroparks has recently added two new fishing docks, one at Hidden Lake (now open) and another at Girdled Road South(opening soon).  Both docks offer better access to the water for more fishing opportunities at these stocked locations.  While it's been a hot and dry summer the fish are still biting at many Lake Metroparks locations.  Get out right after dinner and enjoy a few hours of fishing while the cooler evening hours set in.

Summer Fishing is Fun!

Get out and fish!  Fishing is a great way to spend some quality time with your family.  Lake Metroparks offers multiple opportunities to catch some fun.  We are seeing plenty of activity at Hidden Lake with the new stocking of Largemouth Bass.  Catfish are also being caught in large numbers at Hidden Lake and in the Grand River.  The Grand River is an amazing resource for a variety of fish and Lake Metroparks offers many public access points including Grand River Landing, Helen Hazen Wyman, Beaty Landing, Mason's Landing, Blair Road and Hidden Valley.  All of these parks have picnic tables and grills to add to your fishing adventure.  If river fishing isn't for you, give one of the many stocked ponds throughout Lake Metroparks a try.  Happy Summer Fishing!
