Plenty of angler activity ...

There was a lot of angler activity in the Grand River over the past week.  Reports came in of steelhead, walleye and smallmouth being caught in good numbers and great size.  The higher water has brought in some very nice size fresh fish.  Currently the Grand River is running high and muddy, whether this rises or falls will depend on the predicted snowfall this evening.  Reports of success have come in recently from Big Creek at Helen Hazen Wyman Park and Paine Creek at Indian Point Park.  The local creeks could fish through the weekend, or could get washed out with snowmelt if the predicted storm comes in.  Check your gauges and call your friends before you head out this weekend.

A BIG THANK YOU to the Ohio Central Basin Steelhead Club and ODNR for their recent donation.  Lake Metroparks was presented with a check for $2250 at the March meeting to be used for fish stocking prior to the May Kids Fishing Derby and the June Family Fishing Frenzy at Hidden Lake.
