August is for Fishing!

The late start to summer sure made the season short!  The bonus to that is that Fall Steelhead fishing must be just around the corner.  The ponds of Lake Metroparks have plenty of panfish waiting to be caught.  We are also seeing some very nice catfish out of Grand River Landing.  Reports have come in of perch and white bass being caught off the short pier in Fairport.  Lake Metroparks offers beginner children's fishing program through September if you need assistance teaching your child to fish.  Try to get out now and squeeze in some fishing time before Summer passes you by.
