Annual Fall Stocking soon

Lake Metroparks plans to stock Veterans Park pond with about 750 lbs of rainbow trout soon.  There will also be some Golden Rainbow trout included in this stocking.  The trout will average a little over one pound each.  Anglers must have a valid Ohio fishing license.  This post will be updated once the stocking occurs.
Several reports have come in of steelhead being caught off the short pier in Fairport.  Anglers report the most success with Little Cleos and jigs tipped with maggots.  Rain at the end of last weekend added some flow to the Grand River and a few reports came in of steelhead caught as far up as Helen Hazen Wyman.  This stretch of the Grand River would include fishing access points at Beaty Landing and Grand River Landing.  A little more rain and continued cooler weather should get more fresh steelhead moving upstream.
