Time for some Fall Fishing

There have been some recent reports of steelhead caught in Lake Erie nearshore, along the breakwalls and at harbor mouths.  Cooler weather has the steelhead moving from their summer home in the depths and preparing for their fall river run.  Access to shoreline fishing is available at several Lake Metroparks including Lakefront Lodge, Fairport Harbor, Lake Erie Bluffs, Lakeshore Reservation and Arcola Creek.

Cal displays a nice steelhead caught off the short pier in Fairport Harbor.  He reported seeing several fish caught last weekend and is very excited for the coming season of Fall steelhead fishing.

This family recently attended a canoe fishing program at Hidden Lake.  Fishing was slow but several families enjoyed the opportunity to paddle around this beautiful area.

The Grand River always offers a nice afternoon of fishing while canoeing.  Unfortunately nothing was landed during this outing but what a great way to spend the day.  Canoe access to the Grand River can be found at Hidden Valley, Mason's Landing and Helen Hazen Wyman.

An afternoon at Concord Woods Park offered up several small bass.  Concord Woods is a great place to take the family for some lively fishing action.
