Currently there is very little open water throughout Lake County. Even the streams that are normally open have fallen victim to the deep freeze of late. If the itch to fish is strong, you can always try ice fishing. Lake Metroparks does not monitor ice conditions or the thickness of the ice. Ice conditions are highly variable and can change quickly due to weather conditions and water currents. For your own safety, please use extreme caution and ensure the ice is thick enough and safe before you venture out on any ice.
