Snowmelt and rain cause high and muddy rivers

Recent warm temperatures have filled the Grand and Chagrin Rivers with muddy snowmelt. Local creeks are also currently high and muddy.  Predicted rain will add to this problem.  The bonus will be that more steelhead are likely to head upstream from the lake and into some of the local creeks.  If the rain stops soon, some local creeks could be fishable later in the weekend.  Be sure to check the water gauges before heading out to fish.  Since the fishing doesn't look promising for the weekend consider visiting the Northern Ohio Fly Tying Expo being held this Saturday from 9am - 4pm at Lakeland Community College.  For more information click North Coast Fly Fishers.
